About this day out
Yate & District Heritage Centre is a fully accredited museum which, as part of Yate Town Council, serves local communities. Created in 1995 and relocated in 2000 to a venue next to St Mary's Church on the site of former 1840s stables, it displays aspects of Yate's past and provides archive and research facilities, holding a collection of over 3,000 objects including photographs, maps and oral history recordings. The Centre offers regularly changing exhibitions and events, plus a free educational service for local schools.
