About this day out

The Wish Tower (Martello Tower 73) is a Napoleonic era Martello tower built in the early 1800s as one of 74 towers along the south coast to defend against Napoleon, located towards the western end of Eastbourne seafront. Since 2013 it has been cared for by the volunteer Wish Tower Friends group, who have welcomed over 15,000 visitors. Visitors can explore the tower, see the basement and enjoy the views from the roof.
