About this day out

Usk Rural Life Museum is a volunteer-run charity museum in the historic riverside town of Usk, housed in a 16th century malt barn with adjoining buildings. It holds over 5000 exhibits preserving the heritage of the life and work of country people in the Welsh Borders from Victorian times onwards, portraying rural life in Monmouthshire from approximately 1850 to 1950. Specialist collections include a Victorian cottage, a forge, carts, a cobbler, cheese making, WWII artefacts, a stable and a hardware shop, and the museum also contains the Usk Visitor Centre.
