About this day out

Tropical World in Roundhay, Leeds is home to exciting and exotic animals including meerkats, monkeys, crocodiles and butterflies. Visitors take an unforgettable journey through rainforest, mangroves and desert across zones including the Butterfly House, Aquarium, Waterfall House, Creature Corner, Rainforest Canopy, Desert House and Creature Cavern. A sculpture trail of eight carved beech trees leads to newly restored wildflower meadows in Roundhay Park.

Mobility scooters available to hire for use at Tropical World and Roundhay Park (call ahead to arrange). Disabled parking on Princes Avenue just outside the entrance. No changing places toilet facility. Visitors with additional access requirements should phone 0113 535 2132 at least half an hour before visiting; a Visual Story is available to follow before visiting.

Free parking is available close by, just a short walk to Tropical World. Disabled parking is available on Princes Avenue just outside the entrance. Paid parking is also available.

No — dogs, including assistance dogs, are not allowed into Tropical World due to the free flight birds, animal welfare and the risks this poses.
