About this day out
Tickenham Hill is a 17-hectare nature reserve of woodland and grassland rich in limestone flowers, with views across Nailsea Moor to the coast. The woodland is full of bluebell and dogs mercury during the spring, and early purple orchid and moschatel are also found. Butterflies recorded at the reserve include silver-washed fritillary, brown argus, dingy and grizzled skipper.

- The lower meadow and bridleway are largely flat. There is a flight of steps and the public footpath is steep and can be slippery when wet. A permit is required to access the upper section of the reserve, but permits are currently unable to be issued.
