About this day out
The National Lobster Hatchery is a marine conservation, research and education charity in Padstow, Cornwall, focused on the European Lobster and established as a global centre of expertise. Its award-winning visitor centre on South Quay is one of the only such conservation projects open to the public worldwide, where visitors can get up close with rarely seen lobster babies, pregnant lobster mamas, giant lobsters and other coastal creatures. The hatchery is a family friendly attraction located by the estuary in Padstow, at the head of the Camel Trail.

- Stair lift currently out of service, so wheelchair access to the upstairs area of the Visitor Centre is temporarily unavailable; wheelchair users unable to access the full Visitor Centre are welcomed with 50% off the usual ticket price.
- Parking
- Paid car park outside the hatchery (payable via the Ringo app; Railway Car Park location code 2849), next to Padstow's main car and coach park on South Quay. Other car parks are available in Padstow, but all can get extremely busy during peak times, when a park and ride operates just past the rugby ground.
- Dogs
- Dogs welcome.
