About this day out
Techniquest is a science discovery centre and educational charity in Cardiff Bay, celebrating 40 years of discovery. Visitors can explore hands-on exhibits, live science shows such as Battle of the Bangs, planetarium Star Tours, and workshops in the KLA Lab. Wales' first permanent installation of Gaia, a six-metre artwork of the Earth by Luke Jerram, launches on 24 September.

- Adult (16+): £17.00 with donation / £15.45 standard; Child (3–15): £15.00 / £13.63; Under 3s (0–2): Free; Family (up to 5 persons, max 2 adults/concessions): £58.00 / £52.72; Concessions available for seniors 65+, adults with a disability, Blue Light Card holders, students with valid NUS card, and recipients of Universal Credit or Jobseeker's Allowance; essential carers/personal assistants admitted free. Prices include a voluntary donation of approximately 10%.

- Only one accessible parking bay on site, which should be reserved in advance by phone or email; nearest car park is Mermaid Quay directly opposite (~85m) with 33 accessible bays and 29 parent-and-child bays; free bays for disabled users at Havannah Street car park across the road (~220m).
- Dogs
- Assistance dogs are welcome, with water available upon request; no mention of other dogs.
