About this day out
St Ives Museum, located at Wheal Dream, preserves the history of St Ives with items rescued from the dying days of traditional fishing, mining, and farming, tracing its origins to the St Ives Old Cornwall Society founded in 1920. It won 'Best Project on a Budget' at the 2025 Cornwall Heritage Awards. Its 2026 exhibition 'Making Waves' features over 40 works from 1930 to 1960 focusing on St Ives resident artists.
When to go
Opening calendar
Open from 1st April to the end of October (2026 season until 31st October). Monday to Friday 10:30 am – 4:30 pm, Saturday 10:30 am – 3:30 pm. Closed on Sunday.
