About this day out

St Ives Museum, located at Wheal Dream, preserves the history of St Ives with items rescued from the dying days of traditional fishing, mining, and farming, tracing its origins to the St Ives Old Cornwall Society founded in 1920. It won 'Best Project on a Budget' at the 2025 Cornwall Heritage Awards. Its 2026 exhibition 'Making Waves' features over 40 works from 1930 to 1960 focusing on St Ives resident artists.
