The Spalding Gentlemen's Society museum collection is, with the exception of the Ashmolean, the oldest in the UK. It contains items including a rare tapestry of A Head of Christ by James Christopher le Blon, a fine astrolabe dated 1565, a 1732 map of Spalding by John Grundy, and a marble relief of Sir Isaac Newton by Laurent Delvaux. The museum is currently closed for building works until 2027, and its galleries and reading room can be visited at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum.
