About this day out
Soldiers of Shropshire Museum, at Shrewsbury Castle, displays the significant collections of the Shropshire regiments between 1755 and 1968 and their successor regiments, telling nearly 300 years of British Army history through the eyes of Shropshire soldiers. Highlights include uniforms, weapons, medals and silverware, a Weapons Simulator, family friendly activities, an evening lecture series and school visits. Visitors should allow 90–120 minutes for their visit.

- Access to the main hall, part of the ground floor, the shop and accessible toilet is via portable ramps; manual wheelchair users require an able pusher for the inclined path to the main hall entrance. A small percentage of exhibits are not wheelchair accessible due to the historic building. Assistance dogs are welcome in the Castle and its grounds, and there is an accessible linear walk around the castle grounds. All spaces are staffed, noise levels are restricted, lighting is good with no flashing or strobing lights, and visual story guides can be downloaded.
