About this day out

Sledmere House is East Yorkshire's 18th century country house, the much loved home of Sir Tatton Sykes 8th Bt, with unique collections of artwork, furniture and antiques and a beautiful historic Walled Garden set in expansive Parkland. The House is open for guided tours only on selected dates from late March to late September, while the Parkland and Gardens are open Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sun. A Farm Shop, Coach House Café, Adventure Play Area and Farm are open every day, 8.30am–5pm.

Accessibility
The majority of Sledmere is accessible to everyone. All ground floor rooms of the House are accessible except the chapel (two steps), with ramp access to the Main Entrance; the first floor is not wheelchair accessible, with information boards and photography of the upstairs rooms available. Outside surfaces are a mixture of gravel and cut grass suitable for wheelchair users, and seating is available in most rooms. Two manual wheelchairs can be borrowed (advance booking advisable on 01377 455198). Accessible WCs and baby change are at the Main Entrance, and assistance can be arranged by calling ahead on 01377 236637.
Parking
Free parking in the Main Car Park, with access spaces located closer to the Farm Shop entrance; approx. 40m from the car park to the Farm Shop and 150m to the Ticket Office for the House and Gardens.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome if kept on leads in the Parkland and Gardens; assistance dogs are welcome in all public areas, with water bowls provided at the café.
