Over 900 years old, Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England, withstanding a three-year siege during the Civil War. Visitors can explore every corner on a self-guiding one-way route taking up to an hour and a half, from the Dungeon to the top of the Watch Tower, with free illustrated tour sheets available in ten languages.

Open every day from 10am; closed 23-25 Dec. Last online booking slot is 3.30pm, last admission at 4pm, and the castle closes at 5pm.

- Adults £12.80; Children (5-17) £8.60; Children under 5 free; Over 65s £11.80; Family ticket for two adults and up to 3 children over 5 £41.80 (saves up to £9.60); reduced rate of £11.80 per head for adult parties of 15 or more. Card/contactless payments only.

- There is no wheelchair access to the ancient castle; the grounds, tearoom and shop are accessible over a cobbled surface. A full access statement is available.
- Parking
- Car parking can be booked online with your castle booking or paid to the attendant on arrival; sat nav BD23 1UA. Bailey Car Park closes at 6pm (Sat-Sun at 5pm from October to March).
- Dogs
- Dogs are allowed on a short lead within the Castle, except in the Tearoom & Shop. Dogs are also allowed in Skipton Castle Woods but must be kept on a lead.
