Price Gardens Only: Adult £15, Child (3–15) £5, Child under 3 FREE. Castle and Gardens: from £20, with 10% discount when purchasing tickets 48 hours in advance. Disabled visitors: 2-for-1 admission (helper free, registered disabled person pays full adult price). Historic Houses members: FREE.

About this day out

Sherborne Castle in Dorset was built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594 and has been the Wingfield Digby family's home since 1617. The historic house contains nationally important collections of furniture, paintings and porcelain. Visitors can also walk in Capability Brown's Grade I listed English Landscape Garden, one of his first commissions.

Accessibility: Registered disabled visitors pay full adult price while a helper is admitted free of charge (2-for-1). Guide and assistance dogs are permitted inside the Castle. Parts of the Castle, Gardens and Grounds may occasionally close for essential maintenance.
Parking: On-site car park available; bicycles and push/stunt scooters are not permitted in the Gardens and must be stored in designated areas in the car park.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all areas of the Gardens on short leads; dogs (except guide or assistance dogs) are not permitted inside the Castle, and dogs must not be left in cars.
