About this day out
Puzzlewood is a unique and ancient woodland in the heart of the Forest of Dean, a rare temperate rainforest and popular filming location featured in Star Wars, Doctor Who and many more. A mile and a half of paths take visitors up and down steps, through mossy gorges and over wooden bridges to scenic lookouts. The site also offers holiday accommodation and onsite animals.
When to go
Opening calendar
Open daily from 28th March; opening time 10.00am. Summer (July-August): last entry 4.30pm, gates close 6pm. From 1st September: last entry 3.30pm, gates close 5pm. Winter (Oct-Feb): last entry 2.30pm, gates close 4pm. Weekends and Mondays only in November; closed December-February.
