The Pigsty is a historic building at St Fagans that was built around 1800 at Hendre'r Prosser Farm near Pontypridd, Mid Glamorgan, and used to keep pigs. Like many pigsties in South Wales it is circular, made of layers of flat stones rising and gradually moving inwards to form a beehive-like dome with a corbelled roof, a shape that made it difficult for pigs to burrow their way out. It was moved to the Museum in 1976 and opened to the public in 1977.
