About this day out
Oak Hill Wood is a steeply-sloping medieval woodland in East Barnet, standing on the eastern side of Oak Hill Park, and is a great place to spot bats as well as being home to rare trees and flowers. The ancient woodland, thought to date back to at least the 11th century, supports hornbeam, oak and ash, with a tributary of the Pymmes Brook flowing through it. It is best visited between April to July and September to November.
