About this day out
Great Central Railway (Nottingham) is a heritage railway visitor attraction running eight preserved miles from Ruddington to the northern edge of Loughborough, with journeys behind original steam trains and heritage diesel locomotives. It is based at the 25-acre Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre, which brings together railway, road transport and industrial heritage alongside a heritage bus depot and miniature railways.

- Site entry is always free, including the bus depot, indoor exhibitions, café and gift shop. Heritage train fares start from around £15 per adult return on standard running days, with special events priced individually. £1 child fares on selected family events; miniature railway rides £1.50 per person on selected dates.
