National Museum Cardiff in Cathays Park offers world-class art and natural history, including the Evolution of Wales galleries, natural science galleries, and historic, Impressionist and contemporary art. It runs a busy programme of exhibitions and events, such as the Ffasiwn exhibition (23 May 2026 – 4 April 2027). The museum is free to enter, with tickets bookable in person or online.

Accessibility: The museum is a member of the Hynt access scheme offering free tickets for carers/companions. It has an accessible walkway at the main entrance (or 16 steps with handrails), wheelchair-accessible lifts with audio announcements, free loan of four manual wheelchairs and six mobile seating sticks, accessible toilets, a Changing Places facility with hoist and adjustable bed, induction hearing loops, free audio described tours, BSL-interpreted events, a large print guide for the Ffasiwn exhibition, and ear defenders available to borrow. Appropriately trained service dogs are admitted.
Parking: Visitor Car Park accessed via Museum Avenue with four accessible parking spaces at the rear; parking is free to blue badge holders (use intercom at the barrier to verify permit). Accessible parking is also available at the front of the Museum on Gorsedd Gardens Road.
Dogs: Appropriately trained service dogs are admitted; they should be supervised, ideally on a lead and wearing a tabard or harness
