About this day out
Nant Wallter is a farmworker's cottage built around 1770 in Taliaris, Carmarthenshire, with thick clom walls (clay, mud and straw on a stone base), a thatched roof and small unglazed windows. Inside is one large room with a wattle partition behind which is a tiny bedroom, with children sleeping in the half-loft above. The cottage was moved to St Fagans in 1990 and, after three years of rebuilding, opened to the public in 1993, furnished to the late 18th century.
