The Museum of the Order of St John, housed at St John's Gate in Clerkenwell, London, tells the story of an ancient religious military Order from its origins caring for sick pilgrims in eleventh-century Jerusalem to its modern-day role with St John Ambulance. The ground-floor galleries and shop are free to visit, while the historic rooms, Priory Church and Crypt can be explored on guided tours. A Cloister Garden is open Monday to Saturday as a quiet spot to relax.

Opening calendar
Museum galleries and shop: Wednesday–Saturday, 9:30am–5pm. Cloister Garden: Monday–Saturday, 9:30am to dusk (closed for private events or children's activities, usually Wednesdays and some Tuesdays during school holidays, and Thursdays and some Wednesdays during term time). The Church, Crypt and historic rooms upstairs can only be visited on guided tours.

- Main galleries are on ground level with step-free access throughout; historic rooms on upper floors are only accessible via steps. A wheelchair is available free of charge and folding stools can be borrowed. There is an accessible toilet (nearest Changing Places toilet in the Barbican Centre). Support includes hearing loops at the front desk, Chapter Hall and Church, subtitles on all videos, large print information, magnifiers, audio described tours, BSL-interpreted and Deaf-led tours, visual stories and sensory maps, and staff trained as Dementia Friends. No designated accessible parking, but a space outside the entrance may be reserved by phoning in advance.

- No designated parking for visitors with access requirements, though a space directly outside the Museum entrance may be reserved by calling in advance. Pay and display parking is available in St John's Square (charges Mon–Fri 9am–6:30pm, Sat 9am–1:30pm, 2 hours maximum stay), plus several NCP car parks within walking distance. Nearest station is Farringdon, a 5-minute walk.

- Access/guide dogs are welcome in all areas of the Museum and a bowl of drinking water can be provided for assistance dogs.
