About this day out
Liskeard & District Museum is located in Forrester's Hall on Pike Street in Liskeard, Cornwall, and officially opened on 13th May 1985. After outgrowing its original space, the museum moved into the converted 19th century Henry Rice building, officially opened by HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Cornwall, on 6th June 2002. The museum is run by volunteers and a part-time manager, funded by Liskeard Town Council and public donations, and shares its reception and shop with the town's Tourist Information Centre.

- The museum is located on a steep hill which may make getting to the museum difficult. A lift in the Tourist Information Centre provides access to the 1st floor (Daniel Gumb Room and John Rapson Room) and the 2nd floor (Jeanne Rees research room), and there is plenty of space in the walkways.
- Parking
- Closest car park is Westbourne Car Park, off West Street, around a three minute walk from the museum. Two disabled bays are located at the entrance to the car park (right hand side, first row), with more further down towards the Co-Op supermarket.
- Dogs
- Dogs on leads welcome; a doggy water bowl is available by the entrance
