Levington Lagoon is a brackish lagoon by the River Orwell that was formed by a breach in the sea wall during the 1953 floods and is now a wetland haven for wading birds and specialist estuary species. The 5-hectare reserve is one of the best spots for wetland birds along the River Orwell, with seasonal specialities including greenshank, redshank, lapwing, dunlin, short-eared owl and flocks of pipits. It is cared for by Suffolk Wildlife Trust on behalf of Suffolk Yacht Harbour Ltd.
