About this day out
Homefield Wood is a small 6-hectare BBOWT nature reserve 2.5 miles west of Marlow in Buckinghamshire, made up of beech, ash, sycamore and whitebeam woodland with glades and open grassland. It is a haven for rare orchids, including the rare military orchid which flowers in late May and early June, as well as birds, butterflies and over 400 species of moth. The reserve is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

- Undulating; gentle slope, firm paths; gates and hurdles

- Take A4155 west from Marlow; turn right at Dog and Badger pub in Medmenham; at the next T-junction turn right, then immediately left. Car park (4/5 cars only) is 500m on left at bottom of hill. Park by Forestry Commission entrance without blocking gate!
