About this day out

The Holyhead Maritime Museum is housed in Wales' oldest lifeboat station, dating back to 1858, at Newry Beach, Holyhead. Visitors can explore ship models, historic vessels, tales of shipwrecks and heroic rescues, a genuine WWII Air Raid Shelter, and extensive World War I and II artefacts. An adjacent Harbourfront Bistro offers dining with panoramic sea views.

Accessibility: No steps to the double-door main entrances; all facilities are on the ground floor and internal doors accommodate wheelchair access. A wheelchair is available for visitor use. There is a drop-off point outside the main entrance and one disabled parking bay. Toilets have wheelchair access and baby changing facilities. Many staff speak Welsh.
Parking: On-site parking for seven cars, plus one disabled parking bay and a drop-off point at the main entrance. A free local authority car park is about 150 meters away with limited coach facilities, and there are parking bays on the top promenade.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted within Museum buildings, including the Bistro, with the exception of assistance dogs.
