East Renfrewshire, Scotland
An urban oasis with woodland walks and beautiful plants in all seasons.
The experience
About this day out
Greenbank Garden is an urban oasis less than a mile from Glasgow's Southside suburbs, featuring a 2.5-acre walled garden with more than 3,600 named species of plants, including a National Collection of Bergenia, surrounded by woodland walks. The walled garden was built in the 1760s for tobacco merchant Robert Allason, alongside a Georgian house that is not normally open to visitors. Today the large garden aims to inspire visitors to grow a wide array of plants in their own gardens.
