About this day out
Green Lane Wood is a 75-hectare ancient oak woodland nature reserve in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, left to Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in 1991, with an adjacent wildflower meadow purchased in 1998. It connects with the Biss Wood nature reserve and Green Lane Nature Park, and a pond off the main ride was created by a stray World War II bomb. The reserve is home to wildlife including silver-washed fritillary butterflies, nuthatches, great spotted woodpeckers and the rare Bechstein's bat.

- Wheelchairs are only suitable in the nature park; the gates into the woods are tricky to navigate with a pushchair and impossible with a wheelchair. The rides are covered with stones making access easy.

- Please park in the lay-bys at Huntingfield off Leap Gate Road, as the car parks off the A350 remain closed.
