About this day out

Fourteen Locks is the most spectacular flight of canal locks in South Wales, a scheduled ancient monument on the Crumlin Arm of the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal near Newport, surrounded by striking landscape. Restoration began in 2002 with lock 21, and locks 17–20 and their pounds were completely restored between 2010–11 with grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The centre is managed by the Monmouthshire, Brecon and Abergavenny Canals Trust (MBACT) and includes a shop, museum and Dadford Tea Room, with events held throughout the year.
