The experience
About this day out
Fisherman's Cottage, a few yards down from the New Inn in Clovelly, shows how a Clovelly fisherman and his family lived in the 1930s, with a period parlour, tiny kitchen, two small bedrooms, a sail loft and an attic with straw mattresses. Built in cob and stone with an unplastered wall showing its construction, the cottage also contains a typical village well and is packed with information and old photographs of Clovelly's fishing heritage. The adjoining Kingsley Museum explores Charles Kingsley and his time at Clovelly, with an exhibition room.
