About this day out
Dursley Heritage Centre tells the story of Dursley – 1000 years of history in the life of a town, from its days as a flourishing market town and woollen cloth producer to its engineering heritage with firms like R.A. Lister and Mawdsley's. It features displays of machinery and small objects made in Dursley or closely connected with the town, plus books to browse and a large video screen showing local scenes and films. Open since the beginning of 2005 and entirely run by volunteers, it occupies a central position close to the Methodist Church and opposite the Market House and St James Church.
When to go
Opening calendar
10.00-12.00. January: Saturdays only. February to November: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. December (up to 3rd Saturday). Check with the Heritage Centre before travelling as hours occasionally change due to volunteer availability.
