The experience

About this day out

Drum Castle is one of Scotland's oldest tower houses, granted to the Irvine family by Robert the Bruce in 1323, combining a medieval square tower, Jacobean mansion house and Victorian extension. The estate features a walled garden showing rose cultivation from the 17th to 20th century and the Old Wood of Drum, an ancient oak forest home to red kites, roe deer, red squirrels and badgers. The castle came into the care of the National Trust for Scotland in 1975.
