About this day out
Combe Valley Countryside Park covers approximately 2.3 square miles (about 1480 acres) of countryside between Hastings and Bexhill, including two SSSIs and a 2-mile stretch of coastline at Bulverhythe. It has 2,456 recorded wildlife species, and the central valley floods in winter to attract waterfowl such as ducks, geese, herons and egrets, with dragonflies and wetland plants abundant in summer. A network of paths exists, including a new cycleway running from Sidley in the west to Hollington in the east.

- Some paths become very muddy in wet weather, and the ford route near Sidley is not suitable for pushchairs.
- Parking
- Car parking is difficult for some areas of the park. Options include Bulverhythe Recreation Ground car park (best starting point for Filsham Reedbed), Blackbrooks Garden Centre overflow car park (locked at 6pm), a car park at Bexhill Road Playing Fields, limited roadside parking at Glovers Lane in Sidley, and free 3-hour parking at Ravenside Shopping Centre, Glyne Gap; most seafront parking has been subject to charges since 2021.
