Facilities & accessibility
At a glance
- Accessibility
- Most of the Garden is accessible without steps or stairs, except some heritage features; paths are mostly gravel with large stretches of lawn and sloped paving ramps. Mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at Brookside Gate and Station Road Gate (pre-booking recommended). The Glasshouse Range has narrow paths and corridors, and Tropics House bark paths are not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Trained assistance dogs are welcome, and free carer tickets are available for companions of disabled visitors.
- Parking
- No public car park at the Garden; limited pay and display parking on nearby Trumpington Road and Bateman Street. Taxi, car or minibus drop-off can take place at Brookside Gate (no easy drop-off at Station Road Gate). Blue badge holders can park on Bateman Street beside the Brookside entrance — outside bays for up to three hours or within bays for free with no time limit.
