Breezy Knees Gardens features over 20 acres bursting with colour all summer and has been described by Monty Don as "a beautiful modern garden created on the grandest possible scale". It includes award-winning gardens, a specialist perennial nursery and a cafe, and is situated on the eastern outskirts of York, some 5 miles from the city centre.

Accessibility: Most main areas of the gardens are accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters, with tarmac or firm cycle path material paths; the Cottage Garden (narrow bark path) and Rock Garden (winding soft gravel path) are exceptions, and some peripheral/newer areas such as the Conifer Garden, lake and arboretum and May Blossom Walk are only accessible over grass. Disabled toilets are available.
Parking: Car park on site, with a designated picnic area next to it.
Dogs: No dogs in the gardens except guide dogs; picnics and coolbags are also not permitted, but there is a designated picnic area next to the car park.
