About this day out
Bernera Museum is run by Bernera Historical Society, founded in 1991, and is a fully Accredited museum and registered Scottish charity (SC030330). Its collection includes Iron Age artefacts from the village dig at Bosta Beach, interpretation boards on Bernera history, genealogy and crofting archives, and a large display of photographs of Bernera and its people. Volunteer staff assist visitors, and most people spend around 30 minutes in the museum, often also visiting the Iron Age House at Bosta.
When to go
Opening calendar
2026 season: Monday 4th May to Friday 25th September, Monday to Friday 12pm–4pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday. Out-of-season visits can be booked by email with at least a week's notice.
