Battle Museum of Local History, set within the originally Elizabethan walled gardens of The Almonry, preserves and exhibits hundreds of artefacts from the town's past, from prehistoric and Roman times to the world's oldest effigy of Guy Fawkes and items from the two World Wars. It is a charity-based, independent and accredited museum covering 125 million years of history, run entirely by volunteers. The museum is surrounded by the award-winning Almonry Gardens.
