About this day out

Abbot Hall is an art gallery in Kendal, home to one of the North's most significant art collections, set within a Grade I listed Georgian building on the banks of the River Kent. The collection includes watercolours by JMW Turner and John Ruskin alongside contemporary works by artists such as Charmaine Watkiss, Paula Rego, Lela Harris and Bridget Riley. It is being reimagined as a vibrant cultural and community hub with changing exhibitions, events, family activities and outreach exploring identity, landscape, ecology and lived experience.
